What's Beneath?

October 24, 2016 Sophia Phillips

"Night time at the ocean is one of my most favorite experiences. The whole world shifts and there's a silence that takes back stage to the sound of the waves rushing to converge with the sand. The moonlight transforms the surface of the ocean into a velvet blanket of midnight blue.

Shortly before I took this photo I had witnessed the hatching of Sea Turtles. The moon had not yet risen as the tiny ones made their way out of their underground nursery and into the deep dark ocean that awaited them.

Looking at the expansive waters I wondered how many of the little ones would make it. Life above the water appeared tranquil yet something that looked so peaceful and serene also masked dangers and uncertainty lurking just below the surface.

Many of us walk around day after day peering behind masks…masking the inner struggles beneath the surface of our smiles. We long for inner peace and relief from life’s burdens. To experience the softness of the healing moonlight upon our souls. Transforming the sacred wounds of the heart into soft velvet just as the moonlight does to the ocean's surface.

On the next full moon go outside and bask under her glow. Imagine her light penetrating the skin deep into your heart like a cool laser, burning away the scar tissue and obliterating the lower vibrations of the inner turmoil that keeps you from experiencing the peace you desire.

Breathe her light in deeply sending her gratitude with each exhale. The Cosmos desires to support you." Love, Sophia
