Standing in this field I felt summer slipping away as the sun dipped behind the Blue Ridge Mountains. These sunflowers offered their last bit of nourishment to the bees, butterflies, and various insects.
Over the summer months they stood tall enduring the elements. The intense heat of the Sun had fortified them, strengthening their cores. But it had also depleted the soil of its moisture causing Sunflower to send its roots deeper into the parched earth anchoring them even deeper into the heart of the Mother.
Much of Nature withstands the assaults of the Elements yet the Elements also nourish her. It's an interesting phenomena. I can so relate! The things that bring me much pain and discomfort can also contribute to my strength and growth if I will let it. My friend once said to me, "It's all love coming at you!" and I'm starting to believe her :) It's not easy when you are feeling the weight of it all but if we shift our perspective we can always see the light and beauty at the end of the day. <3 Sophia
